Terms of service

Effective 2026-09-12. By using ShiftSwap you agree to these.

What ShiftSwap is

ShiftSwap is a scheduling tool provided by ShiftSwap. It lets a facility post shifts that need coverage, lets staff claim them, and lets managers decide who gets them. It is a tool for organising work; it is not your employer, does not set your pay, and does not decide whether you are qualified — your facility does, by recording which certifications you hold.

Accounts

  • You sign in with your email address. Keep access to that mailbox secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
  • A manager who creates a facility is responsible for who they invite and for the accuracy of the certifications they record.
  • Managers may add people to a schedule by name before those people have an account. When you accept an invitation, you take over that profile and the shifts already booked against it.
  • One person, one account. Do not share sign-in links.

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • enter information you know to be false, including certification dates;
  • claim a shift you do not intend to work;
  • attempt to access another facility's data or another person's account;
  • probe, scan, or overload the service, or interfere with its security;
  • use the service for anything unlawful.

Managers can deactivate accounts at their facility at any time. ShiftSwap can suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Your facility's data

Schedule, roster, and certification data belongs to the facility that entered it. ShiftSwap stores and processes it only to run the service, as described in the privacy policy. You are responsible for having the right to enter the personal information you enter about other people.

Notifications

The service sends email about shifts, claims, and invitations. These are part of how it works, not marketing, and cannot be individually switched off while your account is active. Delivery depends on third-party email providers and your own mailbox; ShiftSwap cannot guarantee any particular message arrives or arrives on time. Always confirm important changes in the app itself.

Availability and changes

ShiftSwap is provided as-is. ShiftSwap aims to keep it available and working but does not promise uninterrupted service, and may change, pause, or discontinue features. Where practical, notice will be given of changes that affect how you work.

What is not promised

To the fullest extent the law allows, ShiftSwap makes no warranties about the service, express or implied, and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from its use — including a shift going uncovered, a notification not arriving, or an incorrect certification record entered by a facility. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending things

You can stop using the service at any time and ask for your account to be deleted. A facility can be closed by its manager. Sections about data, liability, and acceptable use survive termination to the extent they need to.

These terms

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still apply. If these terms change materially, you will see a notice when you next sign in; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version. Questions: eroth29@icloud.com.
